QX Ltd is Cyber Essentials Certified

Staying true to our commitment to protect your data against cyber threats, and ensure that our framework meets the highest security standards, we’re happy to announce that we have achieved Cyber Essentials certification for our delivery centres in Ahmedabad and Vadodara, India. The certification adds an additional distinction as our UK, Skipton offices reduced cyber security risk by attaining Cyber Essentials Plus Certification.

With the rising number of cyber-attacks over the last few years, the UK government worked side by side with Information Assurance for Small and Medium Enterprises (IASME) and Information Security Forum (ISF) to develop Cyber Essentials scheme. This scheme was established to guide organisations, regardless of their sizes, to implement security controls within their infrastructure that prevent 80% of cyber-attacks. It also demonstrates the organisation’s commitment to cybersecurity and provides assurances to its clients and supply chain that their sensitive data is in safe hands.

Amit Simon, Data Protection Officer, provided the following comment:

“I am delighted that we have achieved the Cyber Essentials certification. This certificate acknowledges all the hard work and efforts our team has put through in maintaining uncompromising standards of excellence in data governance and security. Since most of our processing is digital, this certificate gives a validated assurance to our clients that our infrastructure is secured against cyber threats. Cyber Essentials also serves as a foundation of QX’s GDPR compliance practice.”

Cyber Essentials mandates five technical controls:

  • Secure internet connection (Use: Firewall)
  • Secure devices and software (Use: Strong passwords, two-factor authentication)
  • Controlled and diligent access to data and software (Use: Selective administrative privileges)
  • Safeguard measures against virus and other malware threats
  • Keeping devices and software updated (Use: Patching)
