HeadFirst Global Acquires Impellam Group: Driving Global Growth in Talent Solutions

HeadFirst Global has recently acquired Impellam Group, solidifying their position as a global leader in Managed Services Providers (MSP) and mission-critical talent solutions. The strategic alliance, announced on December 13, 2023, aims to leverage the strengths of both entities, fostering a combined force with over €7 billion spent under management in 2022 and paving the way for accelerated growth in North America, the UK, Europe, and APAC.

The merger is expected to yield numerous advantages:

  • Complementary Global Footprint: The deal establishes a highly complementary geographic footprint with minimal overlap, fortifying the group’s presence across continental Europe, the UK, North America, and APAC.
  • Synergistic Skill Sets: The collaboration brings together complementary skill sets and expertise, fostering substantial cross-selling opportunities and enhanced customer value.
  • Digital Integration: By capitalising on Head First’s advanced digital data platform, the enlarged group aims to boost operational and business performance, utilizing cutting-edge technology to streamline processes.
  • Unified Management Team: The merger ensures a robust combined management team, committed to executing the long-term strategy of the expanded group, thus maximising its potential for success.
  • Career Advancements: Employees across the larger company are poised to benefit from greater career opportunities, reflecting the group’s commitment to fostering professional growth.

Leadership Transition: HeadFirst envisions key executives from Impellam, including Julia Robertson (current CEO) and Tim Briant (current CFO), assuming pivotal roles on the board of directors as Group CEO and Group CFO, respectively. This collaborative leadership approach aims to seamlessly integrate the strengths of both organisations. The board will be further strengthened by the presence of Marion Van Happen, who will continue as CEO of HeadFirst Group, Han Kolff as non-executive Chairman, and non-executive Directors Koen Bekkering and Boyd Sleeman. Importantly, these changes in leadership structure are designed to ensure the continued success and growth of the enlarged group.

Operational Continuity:
As the acquisition progresses, there are no immediate changes to the day-to-day operations of Impellam Group and HeadFirst Group. Both entities will continue delivering their services to customers, suppliers, and professionals. The transaction is anticipated to be finalised in the first half of 2024, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of this powerhouse in the staffing and talent solutions industry.
