David Tymms joins QX as a Strategic Advisor to the Board

QX Global Group, a leading partner for the Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) sector, is delighted to announce the appointment of David Tymms as Strategic Advisor to the Board. David brings a wealth of experience from the student accommodation and higher education sectors, aligning perfectly with QX’s vision for pioneering Business Process Management and Finance Transformation offerings in the PBSA market.

David Tymms began his remarkable career at the British Council in the 1980s, subsequently holding key positions within the student accommodation sector at notable academic institutions, including Regents, Goldsmiths, SOAS, and UCLan before an eight-year spell at LSE as Director of Residential Services, with oversight of all non-academic commercial activity. David repositioned the school’s residential offering, significantly growing its beds through then innovative off-balance sheet solutions.

David left the HE sector in 2008 to embark on a 14-year journey with iQ which saw him progress to Chief Operating Officer and finally Commercial Director before stepping back as a Strategic Advisor following the company’s acquisition by Blackstone for £4.7b in 2020. This period at iQ Student Accommodation was characterized by his significant contributions in enhancing service quality, expanding the student accommodation portfolio, and implementing innovative business strategies, all of which underscore his comprehensive expertise and leadership within the sector.
