The AI-Automation Family: Grandma’s Thanksgiving Challenge

Meet the Automation family: four AI cousins, each with very different personalities.

The Family
  1. RPA-Bot Robbie – The rule-following robot who never improvises
  2. AI-Agent Annie – The smart assistant who excels in her domain
  3. Co-Pilot Casey – The collaborative partner who works with you
  4. Agentic Alex – The ambitious AI who pursues goals independently
Grandma’s Challenge

“Listen up, you four,” announced Grandma Automation. “I’m retiring from hosting Thanksgiving. Next year, ONE of you will plan and execute dinner for 24 family members, including vegetarians, gluten-free folks, and Uncle Harold, who shows up early just to complain.”

She slammed down her 45-year-old recipe book. “Prove you can handle it.”

Their Pitches

RPA-Bot Robbie:
“I’ll execute your exact 1987 recipes, Grandma. Turkey at exactly 165°F, table set at 2:47 PM, dinner served at 3:00 PM sharp.
I’ll create Protocol A for vegetarians, Protocol B for gluten-free, Protocol C for Uncle Harold’s complaints. Same process, every year, zero deviations.”

AI-Agent Annie:
“I’ll be your intelligent coordinator, Grandma. I’ll analyze everyone’s preferences, optimize cooking schedules, handle real-time problems, and adapt recipes on the fly.”

Co-Pilot Casey:
“I’ll work with the family, Grandma. I’ll help Mom perfect her stuffing, guide Dad through carving, and prevent Cousin Emma from burning the rolls.
Everyone keeps their traditional roles, I just make them better at it.”

Agentic Alex:
“Grandma, why are we still doing Thanksgiving the old way?
I’ll revolutionize the entire experience, personalized meals for each guest, optimized supply chains, new family traditions, and probably solve world hunger as a bonus project!”

Grandma’s Wisdom

Grandma chuckled. “You’re ALL hired.”

“What?!” they exclaimed.

Robbie — you handle the reliable basics: turkey timing, table setup, the stuff that can’t go wrong.
Annie — you coordinate the complex parts and solve problems as they arise.
Casey — you work with family members who want to contribute their specialties.
Alex — you innovate, but only improvements that actually help. No launching startups during dinner prep.”

She winked. “The best Thanksgiving needs all of you working together.”

The Real-World Translation
The Lesson

Don’t choose one AI and rule out the others.
Choose the right AI for each job, and use natural intelligence to make them work together.
